Bump In The Hump Sneak Peek: RUMPUS - Drum Machine EP

Westwood strikes again. This time it's their X sub-label that brings back drummer, DJ and producer RUMPUS for a two track EP in Drum Machine. Whether a drum machine is actually used or not, RUMPUS' prowess with percussion is on full display, and maybe even moreso, the two track affair showcases his sick synth work offering up wicked wobs and banging bass. Both cuts are killer, but you'll have to wait until Bump In The Hump hits the airwaves tonight to find out which one gets in the mix. However you can easily satiate yourself by streaming Drum Machine below or downloading it free.Summer certainly seems to be in full swing as last week we looked ahead to 11 different events and while it's nearly impossible to match that, there are indeed seven events to showcase this week. It'll be busy as we look ahead to Dreams, a rare Boiler Room appearance and a special event from the Nice Crew (click through to see events), as well as enjoy some banging house built around RUMPUS. There's the returns of both Internet Daughter and Kraysh, another taste of Bensley's Muskoka album, an exceptional cut from Chrizpy Chriz's Retrieving Light EP and even a remix of Snow's "Informer." Twelve Mixes To Get You Through The Week

Going back through the year I've already shared several masterful mixes, from the likes of Tiga, Point Point, and Alan Fitzpatrick (as well as five new episodes of My Mixtape). While I normally write more lengthy descriptions and sales pitches as to why you ought to listen, I've found that today I've become overwhelmed with wonderful musical journeys. So with that in mind I've compiled a dozen of my favourites of 2018 so far, and will share with very brief descriptions. There's everything from jungle DnB, experimental bass and trap, dubstep, disco, house, and chill. Since not all of these mixes are on Soundcloud there will be no proper playlist, instead I'll use individual embeds. Enjoy below!

New Music I'm Listening To Today

I seem to be starting a new Friday tradition in which I showcase all the new music I'm both excited about and listening to this weekend. That being said I'm going to change it up a little bit as I'm strapped for time today and will simply list those things that I think you too should listen to.

Keys N Krates dropped their debut album Cura, and staying in the 6ix we've got new music from trap trailblazer thook and another collab from Internet Daughter and Eytan Tobin. Bump In The Hump Sneak Peek: Angelz - Devils Remixes

The quality content coming from Quebec continues to fill Bump In The Hump. One of that province's most promising producers, Angelz is quite simply blowing up. He's been identified by boss-men Tchami, with releases on Confession, and Diplo with a Diplo & Friends mix, April 30th. His most recent enterprise is an expansive 8 track remix EP. "Devils" is remixed by the likes of LO'99, Noise Frenzy, and label mate Volac, as well as another I'll be playing tonight. Stream the remixes below & buy here. Along with Angelz, tonight's episode of Bump In The Hump is built up of some of the most moody, wonkiest, and bassiest tracks in its six season history. Bump In The Hump Season Six Premiere

Bump In The Hump is back on Radio Humber's main feed, 96.9 FM, for good starting tonight with the season six premiere. As always the focus remains on the newest releases from across the country, regardless of genre. Join me in discovering what our Canadian producers have cooked up every Wednesday. Stay tuned for more new interviews and guest mixes on My Mixtape, Fridays at 11 PM.

As a sneak peek at this week's episode I've got the new intro that'll be kicking off each hour. As usual the first minute is comprised of some of my favourite cuts from last season. This time it includes: Ramzoid, CastNowski, Botnek, Autoerotique and Kastra's remix of Nelly Furtado. I've always had my choice of quality tracks to play on Bump In The Hump, but the trend of me having to cut some out each week continues. I really do agree that we're in a golden age of music (Colin's take on FUXWITHIT convinced me), and I think this show is the perfect example of that. It is always a mix of the biggest names, garnering millions of plays, and bedroom artists, just making beats. Electronic music is the most flexible medium, allowing magic to arise in infinite ways.

This week is no different. It's the first episode of the month, and CRaymak has been at it again; as has Attlas. Michael Sparks and LOUDPVCK hooked up over the phone. Blu J graced Deadbeats. Fahjah flipped a classic. Again on Bump In The Hump, we also get new Internet Daughter and Noahplause. You won't want to miss these dope tracks or the others I've saved for next week!

Bump In The Hump Sneak Peek: Future Magic x Wicka - Yeah

The premieres are coming fast and furious to Bump In The Hump. After last week's exclusive premiere from friend of the show Cosella, and his collab with FromDropTillDawn "No Boundaries," another hallmark of Bump In The Hump, Future Magic has gifted us with a brand new original. Truth be told I had a different Future Magic production already cue'd up but when he messaged me this morning proposing I premiere his collab with Wicka, "Yeah," of course that was my response, "uh yeah." This latest production from fellow Muskokan and Rochester's Wicka, sees a departure from their raucous trap flip of Flosstradamus' "Mosh Pit." "Yeah" is far more delicate and subtle in its style, playing with vocals and anime-esque soundtrack feels, surrounded by warm uplifting chords that would fit perfectly in any Porter Robinson track. This is affirmative future bass, not too hard hitting, but firmly fun and heartening. Like the vast majority of Future Magic's productions, it is available for free download.
