Enlightenment For Your Ears: CRi

Another week, another incredible edition of Enlightened Listening. Coming in at just under 40 tracks and 3 hours, there are all kinds of goodies in store here. First up, Brock Edwards dazzles with an awesome saxophone-led dub of his own "Up At Dawn." A second dub follows as MK makes good on his "Chemical" with a classic IV dub. Upbeat energy follows with a trio of DnB tracks, highlighted by a divine instrumental from Platinum Breaks.

Moving to longer-form releases, the next two come from Juelz and Feed Me, both bringing the bass with their own established brands of fire. Resetting things with a run of singles, the playlist pushes on with an invigorating take on Alan Parsons Project classic "Sirius," courtesy Armin van Buuren and AVIRA. Staying nostalgic, 1990-classic "The Age Of Love" gets a fearsome facelift from Charlotte de Witte and Enrico Sangiuliano. Finally, our run of fire ends with a bang thanks to the ingenious guttural growls of Kage in "The Zone."

Part punningly, part sonically fitting, the next three releases follow from "The Zone," as "Perpetual Motion" eventually leads to "The Hangover." The Fort Romeau mix of "Perpetual Motion" is equally epic and elegant, the following Neighbour remix of "Going Late" is groovy and gorgeous, and finally, Bush League's "The Hangover" is unavoidably infectious and undeniably head-pounding. Lastly, the playlist closes with lush, sensual stuff from Moullinex, Anderholm, and CRi, each of which features sublime, soulful synths.

Enlightened Listening for July 23

We've got another massive haul of new music in this week's Enlightened Listening. Leading the way is a monumental ten-artist collaboration led by Mix Master Mike. It's followed by two tremendous multi-track releases from Daktyl and Murlo, both of which are undeniable highlights of this playlist. Turning our attention back to singles, the next five releases move from the always impeccable vibes of Keys N Krates, through ISOxo's electrifying Sable Valley offering "Aarena," and into fabulously fat and fierce ELLM remix of "One Life." Quality Canadian content follows with Bensley, Sultan + Shepard and CRi, who you'll be sure to hear more of on Bump In The Hump. Restraint and beauty take center stage with the next three releases, each of which shines sublime. Taking a different turn, deadmau5 and Lights' "When The Summer Dies" gets a groovy, alternative mix. Powering into the final five releases, Theo Kottis kicks things off with a delightful double dose of sonic sunshine ahead of a ridiculously resplendent dub mix of "Cruel Summer." Turning darker, Claude VonStroke and Walker & Royce combine for a pair of brilliant Dirtybird drops. Enlightened Listening for March 12

Once again we've had an incredible week of releases, making for a massive edition of Enlightened Listening. Stretching past the seven-hour mark while coming in just at just less than 100 tracks, the new music playlist is built upon a handful of long-form projects and several sensational singles.

Thematically, the first six releases fit together under the progressive house/trance umbrella. We open with the culmination of two teased albums from CRi and Sultan + Shepard, the latter showcasing the duo in top form. With a similar sentiment, ASHE is on the top of his game with Strangers Dream which features "Stay," a quintessential ASHE production, and two truly sublime slices in "Earth Room"& "Bleeding Heart." Later, TDJ whets our appetite for TDJ002 with dreamy delivery "Lalala."

Next up, London Grammar grace us with a new obsession-worthy single in the hook-driven "How Does It Feel." Hot on the heels of that heavenly offering are two more moving groovers in Jayda G's gorgeous remix of Rhye and Friend Within's equally fabulous LP Hope. Turning more tech-driven, Morgan Geist's masterful remix of Marie Davidson leads us down the ever-darker, more intense and driving backend of this playlist. From the at times bright and groovy designs of Black Loops and Doss to the scorching DnB of Denham Audio, Sleepnet and John Rolodex, this playlist never lacks power. As if taking that last statement as a challenge, the playlist runs right off the rails with the unhinged energy and brutal bangers of ALRT, Dion Timmer, HNTR and Dropwizz. Enlightened Listening for February 19

It's time for our weekly feast of fresh beats, Enlightened Listening. This week's edition includes many of my favourite names, of which Oski and Vindata make triumphant returns. Oski offers up a trifecta of flames on Deadbeats, while Vindata deliver a double dose of divinity to Monstercat. Also dropping off a dynamic duo, Low:r impresses yet again with infectious affairs "Pixel" & "Well." Equally trustworthy, Polaris adds another star to his galactic catalogue with "Deliverance." But enough of burying the lede. Jacques Greene & Cadence Weapon have a new collab! Sharing much of the magic that made "Night Service" such a sensation, "SENNA" too feels like a phenomenon we'll be enjoying over and over and over again. Enlightened Listening for October 16

Happy Friday everyone! We've got a fabulous set of new releases for this week's Enlightened Listening. It features two full-length projects we've been building towards in the lush L.A. LP from Tensnake and CRi's captivating Anjunadeep offering Juvenile. There's also a number of personal favourites (TSHA, Eli Escobar, LeBaron James and Kardano), headlined by the triumphant return of Stephen Walking (who goes disco). Another unlikely disco turn comes from Matroda, while that genre gets another dose of new Duck Sauce. Other big names include Four Tet, BRONSON, No Mana and Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas, who are gearing up for a new album which is set to drop on November 20th.
