Enlightened Listening for March 12

Once again we've had an incredible week of releases, making for a massive edition of Enlightened Listening. Stretching past the seven-hour mark while coming in just at just less than 100 tracks, the new music playlist is built upon a handful of long-form projects and several sensational singles.

Thematically, the first six releases fit together under the progressive house/trance umbrella. We open with the culmination of two teased albums from CRi and Sultan + Shepard, the latter showcasing the duo in top form. With a similar sentiment, ASHE is on the top of his game with Strangers Dream which features "Stay," a quintessential ASHE production, and two truly sublime slices in "Earth Room"& "Bleeding Heart." Later, TDJ whets our appetite for TDJ002 with dreamy delivery "Lalala."

Next up, London Grammar grace us with a new obsession-worthy single in the hook-driven "How Does It Feel." Hot on the heels of that heavenly offering are two more moving groovers in Jayda G's gorgeous remix of Rhye and Friend Within's equally fabulous LP Hope. Turning more tech-driven, Morgan Geist's masterful remix of Marie Davidson leads us down the ever-darker, more intense and driving backend of this playlist. From the at times bright and groovy designs of Black Loops and Doss to the scorching DnB of Denham Audio, Sleepnet and John Rolodex, this playlist never lacks power. As if taking that last statement as a challenge, the playlist runs right off the rails with the unhinged energy and brutal bangers of ALRT, Dion Timmer, HNTR and Dropwizz. Stream the weekly new music playlist (mixed for optimal flow) below, find each of the releases linked individually after the jump and enjoy!

Enlightened Listening for July 24

While I said I wasn't going to blog this week, I can't just pretend like this week didn't come with tons of incredible new tunes, so here's an abbreviated version of Enlightened Listening. As always I've compiled it for maximum flow, moving from more chill, groovy stuff to heavier, banging bits. There's a great variety with several standouts. You can find everything listed below, but I will recommend my three favourites (hint: I'm leaning to more open-air, summer type stuff, while I have a ton of love for the new Kevin de Vries). Personal favourites: Planningtorock's supremely satisfying Planningtochanel, the Tiger & Woods remix of Sébastien Tellier, and Sasha's remix of MJ Cole. Have a great weekend, enjoy!

Enlightened Listening for April 10

This week I've whipped together a can't miss edition of Enlightened Listening. Each of the 15 releases here are exceptional and I have to recommend a full play-through from the new Gorillaz to the latest godly Local Dialect in "Perseus" to Apashe's magnum opus Renaissance and finally Nina Las Vegas' "Impossible." However, I'm not going to do the full rundown as I'm cramped for time today. Instead I'll provide a bit of a road-map through the playlist below.

Funky, disco and house grooves rule the first third with strong, sample-driven tracks from Diplo, Wax Motif and Discotron closing out said section. Turning more-tech driven, EPs from the duos of each Cowboy Rhythmbox. BSOD (Steve Duda and deadmau5) and 29 Palms (Boreta and Ooah from The Glitch Mob) are amazing, Orbital's remix of Joris Voorn is simply fabulous and, as mentioned above, Local Dialect are once again divine. In the final third, Morgan Geist leaves me agape at the utter brilliance of his Caribou "Never Come Back" mix, as does the work of both Squarepusher and Apashe. Finally X&G's EP powers us into the almost Tokyo Drift quality of Nina Las Vegas' "Impossible." Enjoy!

Gorillaz - Aries (ft. Peter Hook and Georgia)

Coucheron & Pasha - Lighthouse (ft. Soul Gem)

Kiesza - Crave

Diplo & Wax Motif - Love To The World

BSOD - No Way, Get Real

Joris Voorn - Never (Orbital Remix)

Local Dialect & Las Von - Perseus / Flote

29 Palms - Nobody Horizon

Cowboy Rhythmbox - 6AM Cowboy

Caribou - Never Come Back (Morgan Geist Remix)

Squarepusher - Lamental

Apashe - Renaissance

X&G - Losing Myself

Nina Las Vegas - Impossible (ft. Thai Chi Rosé)
