I've really been feeling Drum and Bass over the last few weeks and the latest one from Amsterdam artist, Maduk, "Got Me Thinking," has me riding the liquid flow of his collaboration with Veela.
Part of the beauty of Drum and Bass is the inescapable power and progression within it, that empowers listeners and drives them to dance. While most drum and bass is relatively formulaic, in its focus on driving drums, it is the inject of playfulness and tweaks that make good drum and bass so appealing. Veela's vocals strike a philosophical chord that walks the fine line between naval gazing and brain-dead, pure auditory enjoyment. Maduk delivers a delicious combination of deep and dark driving synths that support Veela's propelling vocals. Its got a groove that Never Give Up, perfect for his forthcoming album of the same name. Stay tuned for the album to drop April 29.
