As we continue to cruise towards summer, Bump In The Hump has one more extended episode before we once again cede the final ten minutes to a My Mixtape interview. Just as we did last week, we showcase all but the kitchen sink as we glide through genres.
Following a deep, funky opening, our hands get raised in the air as we take in truly euphoric stuff from Nathan Micay and Pat Lok. And while I love those two tunes, they pale in comparison to Durante's radiant, resplendent take on Sophia Bel's breathtaking "No More." Instantly buoying, the remix features a plethora of percussion and, of course, Miss Bel's beatific vocals. However, the real hook of "No More," the one that keeps me coming back, and solidifies its spot as one of my favourite productions of the year, is the sublime, strident chord structure. It's hard not to be repetitive with words like resplendent, buoyant and euphoric when describing music, but there's no denying the resonance of those adjectives with this track. At low volumes, "No More" tickles the senses. When turned up, it sends you soaring, powered by PLUR. Get it below and catch it in tonight's all-new episode of Bump In The Hump, live from 7-9 EDT on Radio Humber, or after the fact, as cataloged on Mixcloud here.
