Aerosmith, Boyce Avenue & Eminem - Dream On (Hyperclap Remix)

A cover, a remix, a mashup and more, all in one. Immediately identifiable, the riff made famous by Aerosmith in "Dream On" plays front and center in this one of a kind production. Combined by Berlin duo Hyperclap, the Boyce Avenue cover of "Dream On" and the Eminem track, that samples said riff, "Sing For The Moment" come together in the guise of a trap banger. It has everything: intoxicating nostalgia with the surefire sing-a-long; a progressive, banging drop; and a classic rap verse, wrapped around both acoustic chills and electric energy. That Hyperclap have figured out how to seamlessly transition through each of these elements is mind-blowing, only adding to the power of the already almighty lead line. There's no questioning this track's status as a club weapon. It may make you weep, it may make you scream, but no doubt it'll have you rocking out. KLYMVX - California (ft. Cozy & Snoop Dogg)

French duo, Axel and Hovig who together create KLYMVX, have crafted an incredibly cool track called "California." Full of tropical themes and Cozy's chilling vocals, there's a level of freshness that seems to evade most of the tracks made in this increasingly popular trope. "California" features much of the fundamental facets of the so called 'deep house' and tropical subgenres. The difference with KLYMVX's production is the delicate intricacies and simple refinement, it does not posture or masquerade. It just is, flowing seemingly effortlessly and organically from the Parisian pair. Were I to compare "California" to any other track or artist, I'd have to invoke the awesomeness of Matoma. Both Matoma and "California" have a penchant for powerful mixdowns, perfectly mastering each layer, flowing from and through each other so fluently. Additionally, the use of rappers, though an unlikely combination, is part of the magic of both Matoma and KLYMVX's production. The musical bed they build is perfect for the flow of Snoop and Eminem (in Matoma's "Business" remix, my favourite of his). Having only been posted at 11 am EST, there is no word on a release, so you'll have to enjoy "California" solely via streaming on soundcloud. However, the majority of KLYMVX's productions are available for free download, so I highly recommend checking back, in the coming days so you can get your own personal "California."

WTF Friday: An Hour Down The Soundcloud Wormhole

It probably doesn't come as much of a surprise that I troll soundcloud on the regular. And much like Alice In Wonderland is relatively easy to fall through some sort of wormhole to that transports you to an alien world. This just happened to me as I was looking at goofy mashups, particularly those combining rap and kawaii, and came across this incomprehensibly insane account, dicksoak.

This was the second track I came across, probably should have stopped at the first one but it was so incredibly ridiculous that I just had to give this guy another chance to see if there was any hidden gold. I was immediately greeted with this tuned up Eminem monstrosity, the vocal stabs are hilariously tuned and hits an absolutely awesome peak with the chipmunk tuned background vocals at 33 seconds in. The 8-bit video game score brings the intensity and makes it feel as though you're being chased my some hyperactive Marshall Mathers.
