Big N Slim - Killers: Vol. 1
Destructive, death-bringing, dubstep duo Big N Slim are in their element as we're smack dab in the middle of spooky season. Last week they unleashed two unhinged assassins as part of their Killers: Vol. 1 EP, based around two of the season's staples, Nightmare On Elm Street and Halloween. Oozing with unease and immediately identifiable, the two theme tunes still loom large in these maniacal, metalstep, deathcore recastings. The first, "Elm Street" welcomes you to prime-time with pulverizing putrescent punches, amidst gory, gut-churning guitar riffs, and scary samples all kept aloft by blood curdling bass. The second, and my favourite of the two, "Myers" again leans heavily on a handful of samples, effectively stabbing in Michael's trademark fashion. It is more of a slow creeper than its predecessor, but again fittingly as is Michael's menacing, unrelenting pretense. So if you're in the mood for some fear-inducing fire, grab each of the tracks free here and here, and follow Big N Slim below.FOLLOW BIG N SLIM: FACEBOOK SOUNDCLOUD TWITTER
