Chromeo - Head Over Heels Release Date & New Single

After slowly teasing us with 3 singles since November, Chromeo have finally announced the release date of their 5th studio album, Head Over Heels. Due out June 15th on Last Gang Records, the album title is part pun as the duo are now using their own heads over their own heels, becoming one with their trademark legs (with more about the cover via Office Magazine here).

The now revealed 12 track list includes features from French Montana, Stefflon Don, and Amber Mark, along with the already revealed DRAM and The-Dream. Looking further at list I'm surprised at how tightly packaged it is, each track running between 3:05 and 3:30. I have a feeling this may merely be a placeholder as 9 of the 12 are listed at 3:16; a look at their previous albums shows a much wider range.

The duo are set to play The Tonight Show alongside DRAM and Jesse Johnson tonight, but they've already had a busy day with their fourth single "Bad Decision" premiering as Zane Lowe's World Record. Dave1 & P-Thugg continue their "love letter to all the different kinds of funk music that inspired [them]" with this latest entry oozing unabashed amour, sleek strength and grooves, with a big bop, booty shaking soul. And as usual you cannot cut the fun and frivolity out of a Chromeo track, they go hand in hand. They are just pure pep, unmitigated mirth and merriment.
