Tom Browne - Funkin' For Jamaica (Late Nite Tuff Guy Remix)

The legendary Late Nite Tuff Guy is back with another epic edit of original multi-tracks. Reworking one of his favourite funk joints, jazz trumpeter Tom Browne's 1980 classic "Funkin' For Jamaica," Cam Bianchetti's brilliance can be found all over this new six minute sensation. The live energy that made the original production feel so funky and soulful is still omnipresent in LNTG's remix. Browne's trumpet still soars above the massive bass roll-out, while the guitar and piano continue to punctuate perfectly. One could easily rock out to this instrumental groove for hours on end, but the soul of "Funkin' For Jamaica" would be incomplete without Toni Smith's sensational vocals. A truly amped up revision, both the bass and percussion get extra oomph while the overall progression gets an extension to allow for a more fulsome and dance-friendly delivery. Each section is sublime, building brilliantly into the next, combining to create a fabulous funk epic. Dig in below and follow LNTG for more magical music.
