WOLFBITER ft. CHØKE - The Wave (VIP)

Wisconsin's WOLFBITER has been bringing ridiculous heat for a while now and has done so again with a VIP mix of his CHØKE collab "The Wave," released today as part of a remix EP on Recall Records.

A man with metal at his heart, WOLFBITER first made waves a couple years ago with titanic terror "The King In The North." He's since hit us with depraved bootlegs of "Dragula" and more recently Dog Blood's "Turn Off The Lights." However it seems like his hellacious heat has hit an all time high as Halloween looms just 10 days away. The VIP mix of "The Wave" still features the same thunderous rumbles and roars of the original onslaught, but this revision is more rabid, rancorous and ultimately unhinged. Its ominous rush hits harder and faster, becoming frenzied while frothing at the mouth.

All power all the time, stream the VIP version of "The Wave" below and find the full remix EP here.

Mickey Kojak - Get Out (Mickey's '07 Club Edit)

Back in June Aussie producer Mickey Kojak scored a hit with the sensational "Get Out." Friday, he flipped it on its head taking the track to 2007 and cleaving it into a club creeper. Led by a brilliant drum line, space-age bleeps and bloops, and an indie feel reminiscent of MGMT, the original is all kinds of alluring, full of earworm warmth. This new version however takes a more expansive approach, slowly building towards more typical club-style drops, all while maintaining the magic of the original. The dazzling drum design still shines strong, summoning you to the dance floor. The depth of this new drop keeps you there, as though falling into a bottomless pit. But that is the story of the first drop, where the strength of the second is its ecstasy inducing, reach-for-the-sky resplendent riser. Like its lyrical content, it eviscerates all evil, cutting out the cancer, allowing freedom to flourish. It's not often a club edit can be as poignant and powerful as the original, but this is the case here, stream/purchase here.FOLLOW MICKEY KOJAK: FACEBOOK SOUNDCLOUD TWITTER

ABSRDST - Blushy (Ringtone Version)

One day before the official EP gets released, New York based ABSRDST teases us with a VIP, "bubblegum pop version" of "Blushy." Released in celebration of his 20k Soundcloud followers milestone, this "Ringtone Version" screams for PC Music. In fact, he had them in mind when he first made the beat "a few years ago." Perhaps you're even noticing further familiarity, as it was utilized in Shawn Wasabi's viral sensation "Marble Soda," then credited as "Brights."

Whatever its called, it's pure power pop, overflowing with ebullience that takes the more tempered original to new heights. Of course the designs in the original are excellent, especially in their ultra-emotive essence, but this "Ringtone" recasting speaks even more to my soul. While the guitar still shines through, it's the new soaring synths, warped vocals and flourishes of effect-laden fills that bring the rosy blush to your cheeks. However, the cherry on top has got to be ABSRDST's use of the vocals, particularly "I can't wait," whether intentional or not, teases tomorrows release. Pre-order here. Bump In The Hump Sneak Peek: MDK - Fingerbang (VIP Mix)

After more than seven months of silence, MDK is back with a new production. The Vancouver native has made a VIP version of his track "Fingerbang," as originally released on his 2014 album Rise. As with the majority of MDK's productions the intensity is off the charts, as his rapid-fire sampling and drum play propels the track to new heights. I cannot begin to fathom the number of elements in, and the sheer magnitude of, the project file - the average computer would crash upon opening and might explode if it tried a run though. The complexity inherent in MDK's productions, especially as displayed in this version make it an instant favourite, and a track I absolutely have to play on Bump In The Hump. Hear it tonight on Radio Humber live from 6-7 PM EST, set around an hour of the best new Canadian EDM. With it you'll hear another new track from the mysterious production outfit aiwake, an inspired production from Rezz, a viral track from Winnipeg's CCIV and Sofocle, and a remix from Maddmon who's set to play StudioBar Thursday alongside WWRD (details here). Finally, we end the episode with my interview with Marco Marz, ahead of his set for My Mixtape, Friday at 11 PM.

WRECKVGE & Brevis - King Kong (VIP)

It feels like a long time ago when I was really into festival trap, and its no coincidence that its been labeled as illiterate bro beats after champion of the sub-genre, Carnage put his foot firmly in his mouth. But as with any sub-genre, there's good and bad, and I do believe I've found some good today with this VIP version of Serbian duo, WRECKVGE and Bulgarian Brevis' creation, "King Kong."

It's got all the hallmarks of festival trap, all kinds of hands-in-the-air intensity, a drop that demands the masses to jump up and down in unison, and a bright build to contrast the darkness of the almost hardstyle heaviness of the drop. It succeeds in one upping the original, as that's the idea behind a VIP (which means variation in production, not very important person). From the rising synths in the build, to the vocal samples, trap fills, and gargantuan bass drum, each element comes together to create a siren song of sorts, calling out to the titular creature. The track itself summons listeners to the festival stage, sending them back to their early anthropoid nature, imitating the sovereign of Skull Island. The VIP version of "King Kong" can be caged and displayed for free from either Click DJ or ToneDen.
