I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again, there's just something about Aussies and the disco/house they put out that satisfies my soul. After another frustrating scroll through Soundcloud today I turned to their feature "The Upload" and was greeted by Sydney-based house output pig palace and their most recent release, "jubilee" from Newcastle duo dipsmith. Seemingly just their second release as they're still just starting to make waves, they ditch the exceptionally chill vibes of "better in time" for a more upbeat offering in this new sample driven production. Laying down a strong percussion backing from the get-go, the track grows and eventually explodes with splashy brass whitecaps pulling any willing dancer to the center of the floor, and from there the get-down is on. You can feel the blood pumping through it as the track bursts to life, even offering up live crowd sounds as it reaches its conclusion.
"jubilee" is exactly the kind of jackin disco house joint I was looking for and you can have it absolutely free via dipsmith's brand new Bandcamp here.

Soundcloud Related Tracks
Twice in the last few days has Soundcloud's "Related Tracks" stepped up big time, delivering a great playlist half a dozen tracks long. First I got lost back in 2008, listening to "Lulu's Theme" by Lulu Rouge, and was led into the likes of Modeselektor's "The White Flash," Vessels' remix of Nils Frahm "Says," Pantha Du Prince "Saturn Strobe," and finally Moderat "Out Of Sight." The deep rolling vibes seemed endless, as my basement bedroom was transformed into a full on warehouse rave.
And just today I was checking out Hatch's latest remix for Kuren "Home," when Soundcloud sent me through a number of beautiful, chill, downtempo, thought-provoking, vocal-driven tracks like Mall Grab's remix of Dro Carey "Queensberry Rules," auram "Lost Time," Golden Vessel "Never Know," and "Wave," and finally Lastlings "Chills," and "You."
Despite much consternation with Soundcloud, and many moving over to Spotify, I still find Soundcloud is my best option for find new, and especially independent music, specifically stuff I can download. On that note, there's a number of free downloads in both of these playlists, so go grab those now.

Flaxo Retiring Thanks To Soundcloud?
We have yet another case of Soundcloud's copyright policies striking artists down; it might be a final strike for San Francisco's, Flaxo. Via a facebook post, not more than an hour ago, he expects his account to be terminated within the next day or two. Appreciating the growth as a person and artist, the Flaxo monitor supported, he's decided to move onto another a new alias he's "tremendously excited about." Much like fellow Soundcloud snub Lido, Flaxo's music will live on courtesy a massive, complete discography zip, available for free download. It's sad that Soundcloud helped bring down Flaxo, however I'm confident and excited to hear what he comes up with next. He certainly did a great job blessing us with such a range of productions: the powerful "Cosmic Love" remix, sparkling "Diamonds" remix, striking "Weight In Gold" remix, and, perhaps my favourite, the angelic "Touch" remix. Having remixed such massive artists, Kendrick Lamar, Jamie xx & Jack U, along with the others, his tracks were clearly a threat to Soundcloud's radar, but the 25+ thousand followers also came for his original releases. Get on that free zip and get yourself some final Flaxo.

Lido's Soundcloud Rant Update
If you've seen my review post of Lido's show at the Hoxton last week you'll be familiar with his rant about Soundcloud. Apparently Souncloud has now frozen his account which lead to his latest diatribe aimed at the oft maligned streaming site. If you haven't seen the video yet, check it below.
Last night he took to twitter to voice his displeasure, announce "no more remixes from me" but then flip everything by posting one more 'diss-track' of a remix on a new soundcloud @LidoGotClouds.
