Enlightened Listening for May 22

In this 11th lockdown edition of Enlightened Listening I've compiled nine new releases, each banging in their own right. There's EPs from GANZ and Juelz, a killer new Skepta collab with Jme, a couple hard hitting house cuts from Dr. Fresch and BIJOU, the legendary likes of Bassnectar and Feed Me, as well as a trio of rising talents in JOOL, Skrybe & Slooze. It's a simple yet strong lineup with no description necessary. Rage away below and if you're outside flail wildly so people don't come too close.

GANZ - Lost Boys

Jme & Skepta - Nang

Juelz - High Octane

Apashe ft. Instasamka - Uebok (Gotta Run) [Bassnectar Remix]

JOOL & Skrybe - Aquila

Dr. Fresch - It Don't Stop (ft. Andre Nickatina)

BIJOU & Kaleena Zanders - One Life

Feed Me - New Shoes

Slooze - Evolution

Sammy Bananas - Cherry Soda (ft. Kaleena Zanders)

Freshly brewed by Fool's Gold comes a bright and bubbly single from Sammy Bananas' forthcoming debut album Someday. "Cherry Soda" features the always uplifting authority of Kaleena Zanders and blurs the line between disco, house and pop. The synth shows off a tart touch, contrasted by the sweet piano pulses and Kaleena's killer crooning. But for me, the best bit of "Cherry Soda" comes from the backing of the bass and drums that propel the groove, sending your arms upward, fizzing like its namesake. It is an undeniable anthem, and welcome refreshment for the warm weather. Enjoy!FOLLOW SAMMY BANANAS: FACEBOOK SOUNDCLOUD TWITTER

BIJOU & Evan Allen - Count On Me (ft. Kaleena Zanders)

As far as bass goes it's obviously an integral part of just about any good production, but not many dole it out as deeply as BIJOU. His brand of booming g-house always brings the best rolling grooves, this latest example with Evan Allen only further proving his potency. "Count On Me" brings the classic ominous growth necessary to g-house with perfectly placed, if sparing, piano, out of which Kaleena Zanders emerges as a blazing beacon of light. It is an incredibly cutting track without the boisterous bass and rollicking drums, but with them, it becomes a slasher supreme. The uproar these drops will cause on dance floors will surely be something to behold. Whether stomping along or not, there's no way the rhythm doesn't effect your body in at least one way. It is house done to perfection: each element simple, yet sensationally strong. Download "Count On Me" free via Hypeddit here.FOLLOW BIJOU: FACEBOOK SOUNDCLOUD TWITTER
