After a couple weeks without a new episode of Bump In The Hump, we're back tonight. At least kind of. Due to power issues associated with facilities maintenance, Bump In The Hump will not premiere on the Radio Humber airwaves tonight as it normally would but rather it will emerge Saturday at 9PM EDT, in line with my now weekly live tweet. That said I will still post the episode to Mixcloud (along with tracklist here) at our regular air time of 7PM tonight. But back to the contents of the show itself...
Again following the brief hiatus with the Best Of Lockdown episode, this week's Bump In The Hump had a mountain of new music to choose from. And boy did it make for a fire episode. There's a heap of hot house tracks, a bevy of brutal bangers, droves of DnB and even a touch of techno. Additionally there's a number of artist debuts, including one from EDMonton's Yedgar who takes on a turn-of-the-century classic from Gigi D'Agostino. Part of Canada's fulsome wave scene, Yedgar does fabulous work with "I'll Fly With You" leveraging its instantly memorable lead while pushing it into a smoke-filled empty club. And this couldn't be more perfect, as those "L'Amour Toujours" was always in the back of your head and this is the cobweb-covered, corrupted version that emerges when forced to recall its italo-dance excellence. Get Yedgar's take on the classic via Bandcamp here and catch it in the mix tonight.
