We've got an awesome summery edition of Enlightened Listening this week. There's some funky grooves, divine disco, heavenly house and more! We start with Pat Lok's Corazón, which features some easy going, glitzy and glamorous numbers. It is then followed by the final track from The Kount and falcxne's fantastically funky REFLEX EP. After that Hayden James comes through with an absolutely divine debut album, building upon the success of some recent singles. It is an instant entrant in the best album of 2019 debate, so do not miss this one.
Taking a bit of a turn, we enter into an section of extended, epic cuts starting with the latest from All Day I Dream, which is some of the coolest, at times acoustic, techno I've ever come across. This is followed by Serge Devant's "It's Like That" which includes a fantastically fitting take from Sébastien Léger.
Changing gears again, we turn towards intoxicating dance numbers starting with Rex The Dog's black hole banger "Vortex." Following that is Annie Mac's Hottest Record In The World, the ingenious Elderbrook track "How Do You." The always awesome Low Steppa then comes through with a supremely satisfying remix of Phil Fuldner. As if that weren't enough disco for you, Moullinex delivers an epic 11 minute explosion of energy in "CLUB COTTON." As with above, the next two tracks offer up some of the coolest sound design and overall production I've ever heard. First Gorgon City stun with a mix of brilliant highs and wickedly licentious lows. Then the combination of Tommie Sunshine and INDO build through a very summery track only to pull the rug out from underneath you, delivering delirium with their incredibly nutty effects. Finally, DJ Zinc unleashes his Crackhouse, Vol. 3 LP with 10 tracks that can only come from the mind of the legendary DJ and producer. Enjoy it all new below!
