Just yesterday I noticed it's been a while since my last Throwback Thursday post and since serendipity struck as today I came across another remix of "Running Up That Hill," it's only right to share yet another one of the awe-inspiring remixes from the masterful Louis La Roche.
The quality and staying power of Kate Bush's original is obvious as it continues to get plays, open ears and garner edits alike, but let me take you back to 2012 when Brit Brett Ewels took to his French touch persona to give the 1985 classic even more triumphant glistening glory. Letting the brilliant backing loose, La Roche strengthens the synths and makes room for a marching, ascendant beat. The chord progressions still pluck our heartstrings with an angelic efficacy, however the dancier delivery is more rooted in the bass/base. And for this La Roche has added extended instrumental sections for feeling out the room and becoming one with the dance-floor. It may not be the 12" edit we're seeing a lot of lately, but there's certainly a lot of bang for you buck with this one. Stream below, and if you find it up your alley, do not hesitate to look into more of Louis La Roche's productions from this time period.FOLLOW LOUIS LA ROCHE: FACEBOOK SOUNDCLOUD TWITTER
