The Wild Now - Tongue Tied (Far & Few Remix)

I've covered Texas duo Far & Few several times, most recently with their potent collab with Blvk Sheep "Pop." Their range of bass tracks, primarily through the trap lens, shows off incredible production quality, a knack for nasty drops and an incredible versatility around vocals. The latter ability leads their two most recent, more vibey, productions "iwantuu" with ye. and "Ghosted," a take on on Sevdaliza and Stwo's "Haunted." But today the duo is back with a brooding banger, steeped in scowling synths and vicious, yet vaporous vocals.

The atmosphere of "Tongue Tied" is unmistakably menacing, grinding with the intensity of Rezz or Gesaffelstein, while still offering up crystalline clarity in the few haunting high-end notes. As always their percussion is on point, rolling the track forward with a playful progression that makes moving to the macabre joint easy. All this said, the quality of the vocal chops and their interplay in the drops is what makes "Tongue Tied" such a tremendous track. Crash Land - Crash Land (BIJOU Remix)

Newcomer Crash Land, who is still only sporting a single eponymous track, has just received four remixes from the likes of Rootkit, Sacha Robotti and ye. The final remix of the month old "Crash Land" comes from Phoenix based G-House producer, BIJOU. If you've ever come across any BIJOU before, you'll know what to expect, but if you haven't, just press play on this and make sure your sub-woofer is sufficiently loud. There aren't many producers that you can trust as much as BIJOU to make you lose your mind when the thumping subs come through. This is only amplified by the chilling lines Crash Land's laid down in the original, enough to garner 350+ thousand plays. Successful G-House requires potent production overlaid by an atmosphere of unease aside catchy vocals, all of which are delivered in this raucous remix. 12 tracks for the last weekend in August

With summer drawing to a close, it seems people are rushing around trying to take advantage of whatever time is left under the empowering and freeing summer sun. This being the last weekend August, I too am feeling the push to post up lakeside and relax. So before my family and I head to the cottage for this last stretch of summer, I've compiled a list of 12 new tracks that will make your time pass that much more enjoyably. Even better, the majority of these tracks are up for free download. The first three or four tracks are rough, raw and hard hitting trap numbers from big names Masayoshi Iimori, Slumberjack, San Holo and Josh Pan. Slumberjack and San Holo are back with new originals, while Iimori and Pan build on their already inimitable styles with two massive remixes. After taking on Kanye West earlier in the week, Josh Pan now takes on Amerie's "1 Thing." Following that is a brilliant bootleg from German producer, Bibo of classic Skylar Grey "Love The Way You Lie." The next four tracks are extremely bright, futuristic tracks from Italian, Mordecai, Frenchman Offramp, Pluto and Ye. and Sweater Beats. The following track from Bonnie and Clyde is somehow able to combine many of the styles from the previous tracks. "Tonight" is part future bass, part house, part trap, part tropical; a blissful balance between pop and bass.  The duo of Los Angelenos, DJCJ and Bloodtone rework Kevin Gates' "Really Really" to perfection, calling me back to Dr. Fresch's "Gangsta Gangsta." Rounding things out in the best way I know how, with UZ's joint remix with MYRNE of his own "Trap Shit 16." It's always awesome when an original artist remixes their own work but the touch of MYRNE takes it to the next level, as a true work of art.
