One of the best gifts we got over the holidays was the trailer for Jordan Peele's forthcoming film,
Us. Prominently featured in
that clip, and seemingly garnering as much hype as the film itself, was a darker version of Luniz classic "
I Got 5 On It." Today, as a part of his new
Sorry I Don't Do Drugs EP,
Jaymie Silk has taken advantage of that bloodcurdling cover and given it his own twist. Staying true to his club roots, Silk scorches the original with a blend of jungle, DnB and gabber, while paying penance to the eerily lurid and irksome twist found in the trailer. The screeches send shivers down your spine, the chords have your hairs standing on end, and the ominous atmosphere overwhelms. That said, Silk saves our souls by providing the power to combat the calignosity with capoeira (dance-fighting).
