Lido's Soundcloud Rant Update

If you've seen my review post of Lido's show at the Hoxton last week you'll be familiar with his rant about Soundcloud. Apparently Souncloud has now frozen his account which lead to his latest diatribe aimed at the oft maligned streaming site. If you haven't seen the video yet, check it below.
Last night he took to twitter to voice his displeasure, announce "no more remixes from me" but then flip everything by posting one more 'diss-track' of a remix on a new soundcloud @LidoGotClouds.

Soundcloud has definitely had it's fair share of problems concerning it's copyright policies and practices, and I've heard of other cases of official productions being taken down. It seems pretty ridiculous that Soundcloud wouldn't be able to get it's act together, but there's no doubt the waters of copyright infringement have been severely muddied in recent years. As he says the track  probably won't last very long, but do not fear as the track was up for direct download and I got a copy, as I'm sure many others did too. That's the beauty of the age we live in; the ability to create and share is greater than ever. Musicians are artists are they not? Don't they create art? At what point does art become a commodity? Oh shit, I fell into a little philosophy rut. Regardless, I really hope it's not true that he's done with remixes, but at least he didn't leave us hanging after this tease of a tweet dated Oct 22.
